Lawrence is a graduate of Queens College Cambridge. In 1975 he co-founded his own solicitor practice which expanded rapidly. In addition to his legal practice he has, over the years, also engaged in a number of business activities which have given him first hand knowledge of the business world and a unique understanding of the commercial context in which legal issues arise.
He covers a wide range of disciplines but with particular emphasis on complex national and international corporate and commercial litigation.
Lawrence is known for his approach of endeavouring to settle issues through negotiation rather than litigation and if negotiation fails for vigorously advancing or defending his client's position to the maximum effect.
Over the last 10 years Lawrence has achieved notable success in some of the largest cases both in England and Wales and also abroad. The values of such cases are in the hundreds of millions of pounds but Lawrence gives all his cases (whatever the size or value) the same high level of service and individual attention.
In the year 2000 Lawrence established a close association with Harris Cartier LLP. This association proved to be for the benefit of both firms. As a result of this association Lawrence has also become a Partner in Harris Cartier LLP.
